How do the New Car Tax Rates affect me?
Please see our guide here.
What is Vehicle Leasing?
Essentially, it is a way of getting a new (or used) vehicle using one of a variety of financial products, which enables you to take delivery of the vehicle as soon as possible and pay for it over a period of time.
There are a broad range of financial products some of which give you a route to ownership and some which mean you must hand it back at the end of the term.
JKS can discuss the various options available to help you decide which most suits your or your companies’ requirements.
Can we brand our vehicles?
In short, Yes. JKS can also arrange this for you, click here for more information.
We use a vehicle for special purposes and need special equipment, can we still lease?
Yes. Whether you need simple ply-lining or full racking, external frails, ladder racks, roof racks, tow-bars, or entire vehicle bodies, JKS can work with you to do this and can look at including the modifications as a part of the funding solution. Please click here for more information.
I do high miles, is leasing still an option?
Typically, a funder is happy with vehicles doing up to 60,000 miles per annum. If you will be doing more than this, we have suitable solutions in place to meet your requirements, please contact us touch for more information.
I run a whole fleet, can I pool mileage?
Many of our funders offer the facility to pool mileage, please get in touch to discuss this further.
Can you supply a vehicle whilst I’m waiting for my new one(s)?
Yes, JKS can arrange short term hire vehicles for our customers from 1 day up to as long as you need, please click here to find out more.
What if I want to hand my car back early?
The answer is dependent on whether the car is leased or hired.
If it is a contract hire vehicle then you are tied into the contract for the full duration, ending the contract early usually ends up being cost prohibitive costing you upwards of 80% of outstanding rentals except in exceptional circumstances.
If it is a leased vehicle then your options are wider but still vary depending on the contract type. Ultimately however, it is possible to exit the contract early far more easily and usually with minimal disadvantage.
If you have a vehicle with JKS, or though someone else and would like to discuss ending the contract early, please contact us.
What does non-maintained and maintained mean?
A non-maintained contract means that you are responsible for all maintenance, servicing and tyre replacement for the vehicle. Any issues which fall outside of the manufacturers warranty are also your responsibility.
A maintained contract means that all costs associated with running the vehicle (except for fuel, insurance, and damage) are covered as a part of the monthly payment you make. Damage also includes un-repairable punctures for which you would be liable.
Typically is is strongly advised to take maintenance on a contract in which you cover high miles (upwards of 15,000 per annum), below this and sometimes it is more cost effective to self maintain the vehicle. We discuss this with our customers on a case by case basis.
Can I take my vehicle abroad?
Yes. Typically you will need to request permission to do so, however it is very rare for a funder to not allow you to take your vehicle abroad, unless for a very extended period. There are certain places abroad where you cannot take your vehicle however. Most commonly requested is the Nurbergring Nordschleife which is a strict no and the organisers there do report back to funders in the UK if a vehicle goes there which is a leased or hired vehicle.
Can I put my private number place on the vehicle?
Yes. There are forms to complete and there will be an administration charge.
What level of insurance must I have on my vehicle?
Fully Comprehensive Insurance is mandatory on all leased and hired vehicles.
